STUD SERVICE AGREEMENT

Hilltop Bulldog Kennel/Toby Tubby Bulldog Kennel reserve the right to refuse stud service to any bitch without reason or explanation.

We can ship cooled semen worldwide. Shipping cost runs between $75-$100/shipment in addition to a one time stud fee. Saturday shipments and long distance shipment are more expensive.

We only breed our studs to healthy, AKC registered bitches who have had at least one prior heat cycle and exhibit quality in conformation. Bitch owner must agree to place all puppies resulting from breeding to our studs responsibly. Puppies will not be sold to brokers, pet stores, USDA kennel or puppy mills. Puppies that have serious conformational faults will be sold with spay/neuter contracts as pets only.

Due to our busy show schedule, we can not always provide board & breeding here at our kennel. Bitches can be boarded, if needed, at Clarke County Animal Clinic, which is located in Quitman, MS. Our vet, Dr Ashley Bentley, is an experienced Bulldog vet and her clinic offers serum progesterone testing, boarding, AI or surgical implant at a reasonable rate. We deliver semen to or board the stud dog at her clinic when needed.

Bitches that are to be bred at our kennel must be clean, healthy with no s/s of illness or communicable disease. Please make sure your bitch has been wormed and is up to date on all vaccinations including kennel cough which is dangerous to pregnant females and young puppies. We can do progesterone testing from our kennel at a charge of $75/test. The blood is shipped out to an independent lab with results the following day. Bitch owner is responsible for informing us of any bad habits the bitch might have such as climbing or digging. The bitch must be picked up within 3 days of the final breeding. Board is $10/day and the cost of artificial insemination is $25/breeding. Stud service fee is due the day the bitch is dropped off and the board and services charge is due upon pickup.

Our kennel will not be held liable for any injury, illness or death resulting from boarding at our kennel providing we have insured safe, secure containment and temperature control of environment to the best of our ability. We are not responsible if your bitch climbs out or if we lose power due to act of nature or events out of our control. Your bitch will be kept in an airconditioned/heated run with concrete flooring, heavy duty fencing and secure gates. Owner will be notified promptly if there is a problem with climbing or if the bitch becomes ill in any way so that owner can make a decision regarding where to proceed. We reserve the right to transport the bitch to any vet of our choice for emergency treatment and the owner if fully and wholey responsible for the cost of all care regardless of the outcome.

If you would like to have semen shipped to you or your vet, you should contact us as soon as your bitch comes into heat so that we can plan for having semen shipped in the event that we are at a show when semen is needed. If this is the case, we board the stud dog with our vet who will do the shipping. Once a stud is decided on, the stud fee should be sent promptly. We should be informed of the bitches progression every 2-3 days until ovulation occurs. On the day semen is to be shipped, We should be contacted before 3 pm central time so that we have time to process the semen and drive to fedex for shipping. Once shipping is done, you will be sent a tracking number from fedex. If for any reason the semen becomes lost in transit or is delayed due to acts of nature, another shipment will go out to you the following day.

If the bitch does not conceive, a repeat breeding is offered one time within the next calendar year at no charge (other than shipping cost if semen is to be shipped) provided the bitch had progesterone testing prior to breeding to time her ovulation. We do not believe vaginal smears are a reliable test to determine optimum breeding time. One live puppy does constitute a litter. The repeat breeding is not transferable to another bitch. If the stud of choice is unavailable at the time of repeat breeding, a substitute stud dog will be offered.

Bitch owner is responsible for all veterinary charges related to the progesterone testing, breeding, care of the pregnant female, c-section and care of the puppies. Hilltop Kennel accepts no responsibility for any health issue, congenital or otherwise, resulting from the breeding of our stud dogs. Bitch owner is soley responsible for any health issues in offspring resulting from the breeding.

*** Stud fee must be in the form of a money order, cashiers check, postal money order, walmart money gram and must be received prior to the breeding or shipping of semen.  Any dispute in which litigation occurs will be carried out in the court of Jasper County, MS or Lafayette County, MS.
